I started off this month celebrating with two of my high school taiko students. They are both Scouts and one of them achieved their Eagle Scout Rank. The three of us played taiko at the beginning of their ceremony (piece arranged by them) and the speeches given brought tears to my eyes. CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉

The Sacramento Taiko Dan Youth Performing Ensemble performed at the North Natomas Kite Festival. As always, it was a fun time watching everyone fly their kites. The wind was definitely being cooperative this year and there were some great venders. It gets bigger and bigger every year. And of course the taiko performance was awesome!

Sacramento Taiko Dan has been working hard with the Mondavi Center to provide cultural assemblies to students that will be attending a field trip to the Mondavi Center to see Yamato Drummers of Japan.

And then, Many of us went to enjoy the concert ourselves, they are always a fun show! Here’s a great pic with members from Sac Taiko and Koyasan ❤️

And lastly, I was able to hold a short team building session with Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture. This was a particularly special because I have known and worked with some of the participants for many years.
